Smart meters (water, electricity, gas), card readers, IC card door locks, IC card telephones, access control systems, etc.

Network-Optimized Technical Synopsis:
Based on the T=0 protocol commonly used for CPU cards, and considering applications with integrated programming boost circuits and the characteristic of card readers directly transmitting IC card data packets to PCs for processing, a feasible workflow for APDU command and response handling in the reader is illustrated in Figure 1.
3. Hardware Composition of the Reader
The reader hardware primarily consists of: IC interface management chip: TDA8007,MCU: AT89C52,External data memory: W24257S,Serial port level conversion chip: MAX3226,Secure IC card socket (SAM card socket),Application IC card socket
Serial communication cable powered via the keyboard port, along with other relevant components. The contact-based CPU IC card reader is controlled and managed by a PC. Through a customized data cable, the reader’s 5V DC power can be supplied directly from the keyboard port, while the same cable handles serial data exchange between the PC and the reader. In most IC card read/write applications—especially those involving SIM card sockets—authentication of the IC card and encrypted data read/write operations are required.
